3,865 Young Volunteers Gear Up for the 8th China International Import Expo
The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is fast approaching, and a dedicated team of 3,865 volunteers, affectionately dubbed 'little leaves', is set to play a pivotal role in its success. These volunteers, drawn from local schools, take their oath on October 29, ready to welcome participants from around the globe.
The nickname 'little leaves' is a playful reference to the expo's venue, which resembles a four-leaf clover. This year, these young volunteers, including 30 international students, will be strategically positioned across various functions, ensuring a seamless experience for all attendees.
Their roles encompass a wide range of services, including onsite guidance, registration management, guest liaison, media support, data collection, IT assistance, and healthcare services. The volunteer service team has gone the extra mile to enhance multilingual capabilities, partnering with nine prestigious higher education institutions in Shanghai, such as Fudan University, Tongji University, East China Normal University, and Shanghai International Studies University.
This collaboration has resulted in the creation of a multilingual volunteer talent pool, known as the CIIE Multilingual Volunteer Alliance. A total of 129 volunteers, proficient in 12 languages including German, French, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic, have been selected for this year's expo, ensuring a diverse and well-equipped team to support the event's international reach.
