From the spotlight to the pulpit: Former Muvhango actress Elle Tisane embarks on a remarkable spiritual journey!
Elle Tisane, known for her acting and gospel singing, has embraced a new calling: she's now officially a pastor! This transition marks a significant chapter in her life, demonstrating a deep commitment to faith and service.
Elle recently earned a diploma in theology from Emmanuel Christian University International, a milestone she describes as incredibly humbling. She shared with Daily Sun that fulfilling this long-held dream brought immense pride and gratitude.
"I've actually wanted to study theology for years now, and it came purely from the need to do more for God," she explained, drawing inspiration from her mother-in-law's unwavering faith.
Her spiritual journey began with a burning desire to deepen her understanding of her purpose. She wanted "a closer relationship with God, to serve with knowledge, understanding, and responsibility." Having led the worship team at her church for years, she felt a strong pull towards aligning her life with a greater purpose.
Elle views her calling as centered on worship, not just through song and entertainment, but as a way of life. She believes that every Christian should have a foundational understanding of biblical studies. "Should God want me to pastor or head a church, then academically I will be prepared," she stated.
But here's where it gets interesting: Elle's theology studies pushed her in unexpected ways. The course challenged her growth, humility, ethics, and maturity in Christ. She gained insights into discerning truth and received practical ministry training, including preaching, pastoral care, discipleship, and community service. These lessons, she believes, will sustain her for a lifetime.
"This course can only really strengthen and advance the purpose of God," she emphasized. "We’re created to advance the kingdom of God, and the knowledge one has gained can only truly support and sustain the ministry as we serve God in worship."
So, what's next for this multi-talented woman? Elle is following God's lead and plans to continue her studies, pursuing a degree while also preparing for a recording on April 17, 2026, at the Atterbury Theatre. She recently released a new album, In Season, which explores the themes of God's intentions for our lives, drawing inspiration from Galatians 6:9.
Having stepped away from the industry for a time, purpose is what drew her back. She shared how challenges with vocal cord injuries strengthened her faith, reminding her of her calling to carry God's message. Elle continues to serve at church, runs her wellness business, and also has a wedding planning business.
This new era of her music reflects trust and growth. She collaborated with Siyanqoba Mthethwa as producer for the album, introducing new talents while retaining gifted contributors from her previous work. Her sound remains consistent while also maturing.
